Tamil Nadu Puthirai Vannar Welfare Board

The “Puthirai Vannar Welfare Board” was established on 15.10.2009 under the Chairpersonship of Hon’ble Minister for Adi Dravidar Welfare, for the educational, socio- economic development of the Puthirai Vannar community.

There are 12 official members and 13 non official members nominated to this Board. The Director of Adi Dravidar Welfare is the Member- Secretary of this Board. It has been reconstituted on 03.08.2023.

For implementing various welfare measures to the 2,276 registered members of the board and their dependents, a sum of Rs.1.00 crore has been sanctioned from the year 2009 to 2012 and welfare measures have been provided.

An additional fund of Rs.10.00 crore has been sanctioned for the financial year 2023-2024 to revive the Board and undertake livelihood development activities.

Abstract of Schemes Adi Dravidar Welfare Department is implementation of State & Central welfare schemes to uplift the Socio Economic conditions of SC/ST and to provide civic amenities in the SC/ST habitation and to achieve the goal of ensuring Social Justice and Social Equality towards achievement of 2047.
